I am currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science and have current experience with designing Web Sites due to my pursuit of a Web Certification. I have experience with the latest tools including Macromedia Fireworks 8, Flash 8, and Dreamweaver 8. I also have experience with manual coding in multiple languages. I am looking for an entry-level position as I continue my learning through school and hands on experience. I am a fast learner and I am always looking for new challenges.
Here is a Mad Lib JavaScript that I wrote. It is a simple JavaScript that assigns user input to variables that are used in a short story.
Here is an example of a JavaScript that will change the background color according to the button chosen.
Here is an example of a JavaScript that will calculate the price of computer components based on user input from drop down menus.
Here is a site that was developed using JavaScript. It includes mouse-over effects for graphics located at the top and some calculations based on user input.
Here is a Perl script that calculates the area of a rectangle based on user input.
Here is a Perl script that asks for a students name, and 4 grades. The script takes the input, saves it to a text file and produces a submission confirmation page that includes the students name and the total amount for the grades. There is also an error checking system that will determine if the grades are in the requested range.
Here is a Perl script that creates a database for a mailing list. The user inputs their name and email and the script will save this information in to a database. If the user wishes to remove their name and email from the database they may also do so. There is also a error checking for records not already in the database.
These examples employ both ASP, ADO, JavaScript, VBScript and SQL to access a database in Microsoft Access.
Here is a ad for a friend who is trying to start a photo business. The .fla can be found here.
Here is a short clip of a cat on a couch. The .fla can be found here.
Here is a Valentines Day movie I created in Flash9. The .fla can be found here.
Here is a very basic ad for a car rally completed in Flash8. The .fla can be found here.
Here is a basic animation that has rotating hands around a clock. If the user clicks on the clock face the television will cycle through some colors. The .fla can be found here.
Here is a interactive Flash movie that uses ActionScript to take user input and load the appropriate picture. It also uses the onDrag function to allow a user to drag an object over the appropriate picture and drop it. The .fla can be found here.
Here is an ad for a music company. The audio clips were edited in Flash8. The .fla can be found here.
Here is a game that was created in Flash8. The .fla can be found here.
Here is an example of a site that will replace this one once it is approved. I created the site to be replaced several years ago using a program called Namo (similar to Dreamweaver). The new site is created entirely in Flash8. The banner was created using Fireworks8 and animated in Flash8. The main movie has mouseover effects for the three buttons. The 'Samples' link displays a controllable slide show with sample work. Once the user rolls over another button the current movieclip displayed is removed. On both of the other buttons a scrolling text movieclip is played.
Here is an example of a site that I created during my Dreamweaver class. Using Dreamweaver8 I created several interlinking pages for a recipe site. I am currently working on adding Perl scripting to the site and accessing a database of recipes that can be called up by the client on demand. Basic methods used during the creation of this site were tables, an image map, a form, a frameset and general methods of text and link manipulation.
Here is an example of a site that is currently under construction. I am working with a friend who runs an interior redesigning company and is looking for a basic site for advertisement, and to point her potential clients to for information and updates. She would like to include a slide show with before and after pictures, as well as a FAQ page. She would also like to be able to update the pictures herself as she receives more. This will be better served using either JavaScript or Perl to create a picture slide show. I anticipate having this site completed soon.
Here is an example of a site that I hand coded in HTML and CSS. It is a simple design using a frameset for the main layout, and an image map and links for navigation. There is also a basic submission form for sending inquiries, and tables that are used to display information. The fonts and links are formatted in the external CSS file.
Here is my personal home page that I created almost entirely in Flash8, with some hand coding of HTML and JavaScript. I coded a random dice roll for displaying a message, a cookie for the users name, as well as the current date in JavaScript. I used Fireworks to create the graphics and Flash to animate them. The initial movieclip that loads is just a television frame that displays a scrolling text that can be turned on or off using the control at the bottom of the frame. I created clickable hot spots on the bookshelf and the bottom frame for various controls.
